I had the opportunity to be a hair model for a friend of mine, Jah. Jah is the creator of Chocolate Beauty Bodega, her hair styling business + hair care brand. She’s also the creator of Rag Junkie, a sustainable, online clothing store that creates reworked pieces. 

I had no clue what hairstyle she was going to do. I put all my trust in her and she did what needed to be done! 

I’ve never done a style like this before! I realized that I don’t wear hairstyles that show off my face. I always hide behind a bang or big hair—chile, I forgot what my ears looked like until this 😂. 

I loved it though <3 It was giving Chloe Bailey.

The neatness, creativity, and service was top-tier. I 10/10 recommend booking whenever she opens up for clients. 

After I got my hair done, I decided to do an impromptu photoshoot by myself without a full concept or a look. Just ✨me✨

I don’t post photos of me serving face very often, other than on my story. I’m always focused on shooting my outfits instead of close-ups. I want to start doing that more. I’ve taken my own self-portraits in the past and fell in love with those shots. I thought it’d be great to tap back into that to highlight my hair and face. 

Again, I came in with no concept. I just pulled out a chair, sunset lamp, tripod, and a cute top. Nothin too tooooo crazy. 

One thing I’ve been trying to include in my creative process is recording it. I usually forget in the moment, but I made sure that I set up my macbook to film this shoot.

I tried to tap into my sensual side for this one and I was super happy with the turnout.
