COPY ME x UFS FASHION SHOW

It’s fashion show time and I’ve come to take my seat by the runway, honey. I served Black Anna Wintour tonight. My look concept was “Copy me”/ “My only competition is me”. I wanted to acknowledge my growth and give myself a moment of self-appreciation.

My mom thought that it would be a dope concept to get a custom clutch made with a past look of mine; I chose one of my favorite looks from high school and made a renovated repeat of it.

A key part of executing this ensemble were my earrings. I purchased the “Go ahead, Copy me” earrings from an etsy shop called Later Operator—the owner of the shop expressed that she made these because people were copying her designs and she turned it into something that applauded her originality instead. I was inspired by how she flipped the script on her copycats, so I chose to make the earrings a focal point since I’ve experienced a similar situation with my personal style.

I paired it with this tiger print jacket that belonged to my Nanna to keep her memory alive and to show some love to my HBCU mascot.
