GOLDIE // 1ST DAY OF 2ND SEMESTER RECAP
01/18/18
The beginning of the week did not start off as planned. Classes were supposed to start on the 16th, but Mother Nature gave Houston a big ‘ol “SIKE” and left us with 3 days of no school. While my peers rejoiced, I was outraged.
#1: I was ready to serve looks! I had all my fits laid out in my dorm room (I’m pretty sure my roommate hated the clutter) and my wigs of the week were lined up.
#2: I was ready to get this semester over with and start prospering! ME-lationship is on the brink of being official and I’m trying to raise my GPA! I’ve expressed how exciting yet busy this semester is gonna be, so YES I was eager!
but y’all...when I woke up this morning, I truly regretted wishing for school to start. I barely wanted to roll outta bed for my morning omelette (but I found the energy and it was a riveting, delectable experience).
Here’s a run-down on my classes today:
Math: At first, I was kinda disappointed. We had to wait for the professor a bit and the class thought we were about to be able to slide out with that 15-minute rule but alas. She didn’t make it in the first 15 minutes and people started to leave, but then she ended up coming. Of course, we were pissed. The professor ended up being really sweet and chill. The class is super similar to the math class I was in last semester. Math is not my best friend, BUT if it’s anything like my last math class, i’ll survive with flying colors. I don’t think that my professor will leave me or my fellow classmates to rot (especially if we show up often).
Biology: This class is my first “lecture” class experience. The classroom is huge and the amount of people in the class is reflective of that. The professor talks a BUNCH; he’s one of those professors that sidebars a lot and has to have students remind him of his original point. Luckily, he’s funny.
Speech Profiency Lab: My favorite class of the day. I think I love it so much because it ACTUALLY revolves around what I’m trying to do and my class is filled with creatives in my field, so BOOM! connections. The professor is hilarious and he’s straightforward about the industry. The class won’t only be smooth, but it’ll actually benefit me in all aspects. I’m really excited about it!
OVERALL, my Tues/Thurs classes finna be a BREEZE! I may have some hiccups, but hey! Who doesn’t?
I think the worst part of today was the weather. Texas needs to simmer down.
NOW! Onto this look...
I got this warm-up set and laptop bag for Christmas. I wanted to serve a chill look for the new semester, so I could work my way up to bigger and badder looks, ya know? Ya gotta warm the people up a bit ;). I paired it up with some gold accessories and my Nanna’s old Adidas and THUS this look was born. I made a slight feminist statement with my GIRL GANG earrings and my necklace.
Hope you enjoyed this post!
Good luck with this semester and your new year!
2018 is the year for prosperity
SEIZE IT!
Much love,
Janaya.
