ADVENTURES AT THE MFAH
01/19/23
Self-love is the best love, honey. With that being said, I decided to take myself on a solo date to the museum. Thankfully, Houston has a plethora of amazing ones, right in the museum district.
In case you ain’t know, most of the museums in the city are free on Thursdays during certain times. I love going to museums, but I haven’t had a chance to fully explore them. I was waiting on the right Thursday and it finally happened.
For my solo date, I went to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston a.k.a. The MFAH. Baby, that museum is HUGE! I was worn out by the time I walked through the entire thing. After MFAH, I went to the Sculpture Garden and Pistolero’s for food.
Pistolero’s is a mexican restaurant in the Montrose area, not far from the museum district. I ordered some nachos, stuffed jalepenos, and a margarita during their happy hour. The way that margarita beat me all the way up??? Whew. I had some good eats and a great time.
My look was very chill (for me). It was a little breezy, so I put on my tiger-stripe coat. This coat belonged to my Nanna before she passed and it’s one of my favorites. My black velvet dress was a gift from my granddad. It used to be a maxi dress but one thang about me? Ima cut a dress short. I can’t help myself.
My cowboy safari boots came from a discount shoe shop, which tied in well with my coat. Then we have the Telfeezy in my favorite color, lime green. The only reason I wore it was to hold my tripod. IT ATE DOWNNNN THO!
Long story short, I had a cool date wit a cool gal.
Best,
Janaya
